Solar Cables are the core components that transmit electricity in photovoltaic systems. Honor Energy's high-quality cables are specifically designed for harsh outdoor environments—they can handle both high and low temperatures, block ultraviolet rays, and don't age easily. They securely connect photovoltaic modules, inverters, and other equipment, ensuring that electricity is transmitted quickly and smoothly.
Functionally, solar cables undertake the important task of power transmission in photovoltaic systems. From the output end of the photovoltaic panel module to the inverter and then to the connection of equipment such as the combiner box, it is necessary to achieve low-loss power transmission to ensure that the power generation efficiency is not affected by the performance of the wires.
PV cables have multiple protective layers. The inner wires are mostly high-purity copper or tinned copper, and they’re really good at carrying electricity. The insulation and outer cover? They use tough materials that can stand up to bad weather, like cross-linked polyethylene. These materials can take direct sunlight, wind, and rain, so the cables last a long time.
In terms of performance, it is compatible with extreme environments. It can operate stably within the temperature range of -40 ℃ to 90℃, with an anti-ultraviolet aging performance of over 20 years. It can stand up to ozone, and handle acids and alkalis too. That means it works in all sorts of places—like deserts or right by the coast.
The advantages lie in safety and durability. It has passed strict weather resistance tests, is not prone to brittleness at low temperatures, does not lose insulation at high temperatures, and has a certain ability to resist mechanical shock. It is easy to install and is a key wire for the long-term stable operation of photovoltaic systems.
advantage
1.Super weather-resistant and durable: Suitable for extreme temperature differences from -40℃ to 90℃, resistant to ultraviolet aging for up to 25 years, no cracking or hardening outdoors.
2.Low waste, high efficiency: The high-purity oxygen-free copper conductors cut down on transmission loss by over 5% compared to regular cables.
3.Flexible and easy to install: It maintains good flexibility at low temperatures, is resistant to mechanical shock, and is more convenient to install in complex scenarios.
4.It plays well with all kinds of solar panels and inverters. And it keeps running steady, whether it’s out in the desert or by the coast.
Installation Guide
1.Choose the right cable: Depending on how big the solar power system is and what it requires, you need a cable that can carry enough current, handle the weather, resist UV light, and more. Also, its rated voltage has to match the system’s working voltage needs.
2.When setting up solar PV cables, keep the wires as short as possible. Don’t run them through places that get too hot, damp, or are easy to damage. The paths for the cables shouldn’t cross, get squeezed, or twisted. When you have to bend them, leave enough room for the curve. Take plastic-insulated cables, for instance—when you bend them, the curve has to be at least 10 times as big as the cable’s outer width.
3.Fasten the cables right: Use clamps or fasteners to hold solar cables onto brackets or walls. When running them straight up and down in cable trays, make sure to secure the start and end of the power cables, plus both sides of any bends or connections.
4.Make sure connections are tight: Figure out how much to strip off the wire based on the size of the terminal block. Push the wire all the way into the block, then use crimping pliers to squeeze it tight—this keeps the contact solid. If the connection needs to stay dry, wrap it with waterproof tape or use a waterproof joint to seal it up.
5.Conduct insulation tests: After installation is completed, insulation tests should be carried out on photovoltaic cables to ensure that their insulation performance meets the requirements.
