In France:In 2021,Barbara Pompili who is Minister for Ecological Transition stated that the government plans to provide additional incentives for BIPV projects to promote the development of the entire industry.
In Europe:Since the end of 2021, countries such as Spain, and the Netherlands have introduced government subsidies, tax cuts and fee reductions, and accelerated grid connection approvals to encourage the development of distributed photovoltaic.
In Japan:The Tokyo government has stipulated that, starting from 1 April 2025, newly constructed residences must be equipped with solar systems.

Feasibility

China has completed the development of the first generation of BIPV structure materials technology through the use of optical and microscopic physics techniques. These materials appear to be completely opaque solid materials, but at the microscopic level, they form tunnels that allow large amounts of photons to pass through. As a result, the surface of the photovoltaic cells completely resembles the appearance and physical properties of ordinary building materials. The photovoltaic conversion efficiency of photovoltaic building materials produced using this technology has exceeded 10% and is expected to reach 15% to 16% in the future.
